Mortar medium

The mortar is handcrafted from teak wood in small villages in Bali, using wood sourced from sustainable plantations. Teak (Tectona grandis) originates from Indonesia, India, Malaysia, Thailand, and Myanmar. This type of wood contains natural oils that make it water-resistant and protect it against rot, insects, and bacteria.

Teak from Java is considered by many to be the finest in the world, and with simple care, the mortar can last for decades.
